Saravana Bhavan @ NYC
Dosa (Crepe made from Rice and Black Lentils)
Why don’t New Yorker’s eat breakfast? Needing to arrange an early meeting and desirous of a light atmosphere and excellent food, I drew a blank. Indeed, I wasn’t even aware of any restaurants outside of a hotel that open of a morning! The Four Seasons and Norma’s at the Parker Meridien are a wonderful treat, but I find it dissappointing that if ostentation is not the intention, choice is extremely limited and often predicated on the weekend brunch rush. I am nostalgic for London, home of the all-day-breakfast.
On this particular morning, creativity led us to a great discovery along the path less travelled. The next time I pass the dinner crowd spilling out the entrance of this wildly popular South Indian establishment I will smile to have been and to have breakfasted.

WORST SERVICE – WORST FOOD – TOO EXPENSIVE – VERY LESS QUANTITY AND ABOVE ALL WORST PEOPLE I AM SORRY I HAVE TO GIVE ONE STAR. IF I WOULD I WOULD GIVE 0 STAR WORST SERVICE – WORST FOOD – TOO EXPENSIVE – VERY LESS QUANTITY AND ABOVE ALL WORST PEOPLE WORST.. worst worst worst of life. woww…… let me introduce the worst of all time – Saravana… dining experience at its worst… I have been to almost every single restaurant in New York. But this was the WORSTS. My sister came from Boston and I took her there with my wife and daughter. The waiter was trying to feel us down by saying that you are the only one who is looking for price and quantity. I don’t know it was nepali guy or chienese, but he was the worst of all time. I never seen any server like this idiot. He bring the food in about 30 minutes. It was my first time otherwise i usually go to the next street – Chennai Garden. These saravana guys never stand in front of the quality, Quantity and the Service of Chennai Garden. Next Worst -: When they give me the bill, the gratitude was already there. I asked what is this – again the same idiot said – its service charge. I asked him if i dont want to – then he made his face little odd and said “you have no option but to pay”. wow, that was great… it was like this reastaurant has the bouncers there… Think twice or so many times to go there. Take my words – dont ever go there. especially when you taking your guest first time… WORST SERVICE – WORST FOOD – TOO EXPENSIVE – VERY LESS QUANTITY AND ABOVE ALL WORST PEOPLE
